If you’re gluten-free and heading to Milan, you’re in for a treat. The city is home to some incredible spots where you can enjoy delicious, safe meals without feeling like you’re missing out. From traditional Italian dishes to quick snacks, here are my top picks for the best of gluten-free Milan!
Officiana Zero
Located near Milan Centrale Station, Officiana Zero is a gluten-free bakery that will blow your mind. Start your day right with one of their pistachio croissants—flaky, indulgent, and completely gluten-free. And if you’re in the mood for something savory, grab one of their ham and cheese sandwiches, made fresh and perfect for a quick lunch or a snack on the go.

Spontini Pizza
Over by the Naviglio Grande, you’ll find Spontini, where you can grab gluten-free pizza by the slice. Perfect for strolling along the canals, this pizza is cheesy, satisfying, and quick. It’s a simple, no-frills option, but when you’re craving a pizza fix, it’s the place to go.
McDonald’s
Yes, even McDonald’s in Milan has gluten-free options so you don’t have to order a burger without the bun! Whether you’re in need of a quick bite or a guilty pleasure, their cheeseburgers are a surprisingly solid gluten-free option. The buns are made with the schar buns and packaged separately so you can be confident it’s safe for coeliacs. And while you’re there, treat yourself to their fries with cheese and bacon bits. It’s comforting fast food and you can actually have the bun!
Mama Eat
A bit of a walk from Sforzesco Castle, Mama Eat offers some of the best gluten-free pasta I’ve ever had in my life. Their potato croquettes are next level, too—crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. It’s all about authentic flavors here, with options that rival any gluten-filled meal.

Be Bop
I’ve mentioned Be Bop before—it’s just a 15-20 minute walk from the viral QC Termemilano spa, making it a perfect spot to refuel after your relaxation session. With a dedicated gluten-free kitchen, Be Bop’s standout dish for me is the Milanese cutlet.Pair it with their gluten-free tiramisu, and you’ll be in foodie heaven.

Il Cestino
Nestled in Brera, one of Milan’s trendiest districts, Il Cestino serves up fantastic gluten-free pasta. I had a carbonara which was delicious and I believe they also did gluten free pizza too (but I didn’t try this).

Places I Want to Try Next Time:
I haven’t had the chance to visit these gluten-free spots yet, but they’re at the top of my list for my next trip to Milan:
1. GluFree Bakery
An entirely gluten-free bakery known for its wide range of baked goods, including pastries, cakes, and bread.
2. PanPerMe
A 100% gluten-free restaurant offering Italian classics like pasta, pizza, and risotto.
3. Pizzeria Positano Milano Carrobbio
Regular or gluten-free Neapolitan pizzas, salads & desserts. There are a lot of coeliac’s who have recommended here on trip advisor and google.
4. Bistro
An all gluten free restaurant, this one’s on my list to visit when I’m next in Milan.
5. Cake Shop Navotti Milano
A gluten free heaven for coeliacs.
